• W4319978590 abstract "Corporate entrepreneurship is one of the many facets in enhancing firm performance. It refers to the entrepreneurial activities occurring within an organization. For corporate entrepreneurial activities to occur a certain frame of mind called entrepreneurial orientation (EO) is required. The purpose of this study is to investigate the self-concept factors: need for achievement, self-efficacy and internal locus of control as determinants to EO. Furthermore, to include whether their interaction effects are important to consider, as well as the level of analysis. Through a survey the self-concept factors and EO levels were assessed over eighty-five managers across different organizations. Their own personal EO levels and those of their organizations were assessed. Hierarchical regression analysis was used to analyze the data. The study found strong relations between an organization's EO levels and respectively organizational-efficacy and need for achievement as well as between personal EO levels and self-efficacy. Furthermore, interaction effects are visible on the organization level between organizational-efficacy and need for achievement, as well as between organizational-efficacy and internal locus of control. Both interactions strengthen the relationship on EO. The level of analysis for comparison do indeed play an important role in determining relationships." @default.
