La prévention dans la population générale est plus difficile : la majorité des MSOC surviennent chez des personnes sans facteurs prédictifs pour une mort subite. Des études récentes ont montré que la MSOC est précédé des symptômes dans plus de la moitié des cas. Une meilleure connaissance de ces symptômes, couplée à l’utilisation de l’intelligence artificielle et des dispositifs connectés permettrait une intervention précoce des services d’urgence, réalisant une prévention à court terme. Sudden cardiac death (SCD) accounts for 5 million deaths per year worldwide. The majority of SCD are due to coronary artery disease. Prevention of SCD in high-risk patients is based on the use of several predictive factors including left ventricular ejection fraction that allow selection of patients for an implantable cardioverter-defibrillator. Prevention of SCD in the general population is more difficult: most SCD occur in patients with no predictive factors for sudden death. Recent studies have shown that pre-arrest symptoms occur in more than 50% of SCD. Better knowledge of these symptoms, with the use of artificial intelligence and connected devices would allow near term prevention with early arrival of emergency medical care before the occurrence of SCD." @default.
