- W4320729971 abstract "In the article, results of experiments (laboratory and full-scale) on addition of sulphide based additive to the CaCO3 slurry from Wet Flue Gas Desulphurization plant (WFGD) were presented. Full-scale tests on two WFGD installations that purify the flue gas from the combustion of hard coal and lignite were carried out. The influence of sodium sulphide addition (continuous and periodic feeding) to the CaCO3 slurry on the reduction of mercury emission to the atmosphere and precipitation of heavy metals from slurry (Hg, Zn, Pb, Cd, Cr, Cu, Ni, Fe and Mn) were investigated. It was confirmed that significant reduction of mercury emissions to the atmosphere can be archived (up to 89% for hard coal tests and 90% for lignite) as a result of controlling the phenomenon of mercury re-emission from the WFGD absorber. Additionally, dosing of sulphide based additive to the FGD slurry reduces concentration of heavy metals in wastewater (efficiency of mercury precipitation reaches 88% for lignite and 83% for hard coal)." @default.
