This chapter discusses recently used techniques for enhancement of hyperspectral image and why it is necessary to enhance a hyperspectral image for processing applications. This chapter includes various goals of hyperspectral image enhancement to obtain the spectrum for each pixel in the image of a scene, with the purpose of finding objects, identifying materials, or detecting processes. This chapter focuses on the various advantages of hyperspectral imaging which is used in many application and due to entire spectrum is acquired at each pixel, the operator needs no prior knowledge of the sample, and post processing allows all available information from the dataset to be mined. Lastly we discuss the application of recently developed technique of hyperspectral imaging processing in the field of mineral detection using remote sensing techniques." @default.
