- W4322101958 abstract "In the present scenario, the batch production process is always preferred in food, pharmaceutical and domestic product-making industries which are considered as one of the fast-growing industry fields. Further, the products of these industries and the speedy and technological developments in these fields lead to requirements of process equipment capable of fulfilling the challenging needs of the industries. These products consist of various constituents required to be mixed in specific proportions and in the specified time duration without chemical reaction or changing its base material properties. Many products are mixed through the churning of blades giving a homogenous constitution and some of these products need mixing to conserve original grain size and properties post-mixing which sometimes do not get achieved through traditional mixing and certain properties might get lost. Therefore, the design of process equipment to fulfil these requirements many times becomes a challenging task. To overcome these difficulties and to fulfil industrial production requirements, large-scale batch production was done with conical vessel screw agitator-type equipment which was designed, analysed and fabricated in the present research work. The designed equipment was also useful in product making like baby food mixing, flavoured tea mixing and cattle feed making. This research work deals with the theoretical design, solid modelling and structural analysis of a conical vessel screw agitator done using FEA software and its fabrication in the workshop. The design was validated before its fabrication based on the results obtained through the FEA analysis. The agitator designed with the perspective of static structural aspects in this work is mainly aimed at dry mixing of chemical ingredients for making pharmaceutical tablets." @default.
