- W4322484755 abstract "Fabrication of novel biomedical composite material is the most anticipated goal of today's Research & Development. In the “age of drug resistance” biomedical fraternity faces tremendous challenge to minimize infections that spread during medical intervention or environmental reasons. Composite materials that harbour all new properties are the source of inspiration that tickle the idea of “in-situ zero infection” strategy for medical interventions such as implantation, critical intra-circulation drug delivery, life saving operative procedures etc. The implant or the tissue construct it-self would be potentially anti microbial that would repel pathogenic activity of all sorts. Due to the in-built features of the material used in the prosthesis, the infection if any during operative procedures will be auto -inhibited. Since, the composite material with more than one component forms a critical mixture, new structural & functional properties in the material would develop. Attempt is made to extend scope of this review by integrating a section on protocol for developing Peptide Based Composites for pathogen control. This chapter for the first time explore the possibility of developing “in-situ zero infection” strategy to be executed harnessing peptide based composite materials." @default.
