- W4323522078 abstract "Summary. The purpose of the article is to analyze A. Androhovychʼs research on the history of education and to determine the main principles of the historianʼs scientific visions. The research methodology is based on the principles of historicism, objectivity, scientific criticism, systematicity and verification, analysis and synthesis. At the same time, historical-comparative, historical-genetic and historical-typological methods are used. The scientific novelty of the article lies in the fact that, for the first time, A. Androhovychʼs research on the history of education is actually analyzed and his main visions are singled out. Conclusions. Therefore, A. Androhovychʼs research has not been the object of scientific interest of historiographers until now. The historianʼs works, most of which were published in the 1920s and 1930s, were mainly dedicated to the past of educational institutions that played the role of institutional centers of the Ukrainian national revival in the late 18th and first half of the 19th centuries. A. Androhovychʼs scientific style is primarily characterized by a careful study of historical sources and historiography, while his declared desire to present the completeness of the subject under study gives reason to consider the scholar a supporter of positivist methodology. In the writings of A. Androhovych, we can clearly trace his national visions and evaluation of events through the prism of Ukrainian-centric markers. The researcher condemned Polonization, negatively characterized the Austrian national policy, but emphasized the importance of the involvement of Galicia in the Western European civilization space. A. Androhovychʼs historical reflections were influenced by social archetypes and the experience of his professional (pedagogical) activity. Writing an intellectual biography of A. Androhovych is a promising direction for further research." @default.
