- W4327713020 abstract "Spectroscopic methods have been applied in areas of academic research, clinical research, and industrial research as a successful analytical method. The major spectroscopic methods that are frequently used in the research field are: laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS); Raman spectroscopy; near infrared spectroscopy; and fluorescence spectroscopy. This chapter presents a brief introduction to these spectroscopic methods with advantages and certain limitations. The limitations of spectroscopic techniques in terms of versatility need to be resolved for developing a system especially for material identification and quality assessment with high reliability. A practical way of developing such systems is to hyphenate more than one spectroscopic method in a single system. The chapter presents a detailed description about different combinations of LIBS with other major spectroscopic techniques along with the motive and advantages. The most widely spread LIBS-hyphenated instrument is LIBS–Raman." @default.
