- W4360787776 abstract "Introduction. The behavior of individuals of a population and a species is formed through evolution in the process of selection of those best adapted to the conditions of existence. The definition of its aspects in honey bees of different populations is of great importance, in particular, the protective reaction to external interference in life. Since the question of the ethology of purebred Ukrainian bees and its measure relative to local bees is debatable, it became necessary to solve it. The goal of the work. To assess the nature of the protective motility of bees for interference in their vital activities. Materials and methods of research. The degree of protective motility of bees to irritation by a foreign skin device in the area of departure of individuals from the nest and to the situational intervention of a foreign object in the work cycle of the family was analyzed by comparing the traits: peacefulness-viciousness in bees of the Ukrainian steppe breed of the “Hadyatsky” ecotype and the local population. Results of research and discussion. Conducted studies of the protective motility of bees against a deliberately created obstacle to their flight established a zero threshold for bee aggression. Assessment of the level of behavior of bees on the honeycomb kept above the nest and their protective reaction to the intervention of a moving object with complete disassembly of the nest confirms the peace-loving nature of bees of the Ukrainian steppe breed of the intrabreed type “Hadyatskyi”. In both experiments, bees of this ecotype scored more than local hybrids. Conclusions and prospects for further research. Ukrainian steppe bees of the intrabreed type “Hadyatskyi” are characterized by peacefulness. Purebred bees of this ecotype are endowed with a higher degree of peacefulness than native bees of the local population. Complete dismantling of the bee nest is a stressful factor for the colony, which can have a negative impact on its vital activities. During intensive honey collection, interference with the life of bees should be minimized." @default.
