- W4360908993 abstract "The paper investigates the dynamic behaviour of Inverse Fluidized Bed (IFB) for the treatment of petroleum wastewater using adsorbents date seed activated carbon (DSAC) and commercial coconut shell activated carbon (CCAC). Inverse fluidization is the downward flow technique, where density of particles are less compared to the liquid density. IFB wasexperimentally validated by analysing the chemical oxygen demand (COD) removalefficiency, total dissolved solids (TDS) and total suspended solids (TSS) from the petroleum wastewater with variations of time interval, dosage of activated carbon and effect of adsorbent size. Findings of this study reveals that maximumCOD reduction at 92%, TDS reduction of 86% and TSS reduction of 84% has been determined using (DSAC)and the COD reduction at 85% TDS reduction at 83% and TSS reduction at 80% has been evaluated using (CCAC). The IFB adsorption column using date seedsbecomes saturated in the 60-min continuous adsorption using 0.00236m size, 210gms dosage of activated carbon, the overall COD removal is 92%, and the adsorption capacity (Qexp) on the adsorbent date seeds activated carbon is 671.33 mg/g." @default.
