- W4360977227 abstract "Graphene oxide modified silica (GOMS) has been prepared to study the adsorption of some cationic styrylpyridinium dyes in organic solvent media of variable polarities. GOMS is privileged with very unique surface structure having graphitic network and oxygen functionalities. The unmodified silica, GOMS and dye adsorbed GOMS samples have been characterized by Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and X-ray diffraction (XRD) methods. Effects of various optimized conditions like temperature, contact time, adsorbate concentration and adsorbent dosages have been analysed and the kinetic and thermodynamic studies have been correlated with relevant experimental data to reach at a conclusion. The adsorption follows Freundlich isotherm model. The impacts of substituents present on the adsorbate molecules and polarities of the solvents have been discussed to understand the adsorption phenomenon. A suitable modelling has been done to demonstrate the adsorption mechanism from the experimental findings." @default.
