Two models have been compared for prediction of DR progression, the first model consists of known risk factors namely age, duration of diabetes, glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c), mean arterial pressure, DR severity, vessel density (VD) of the superficial capillary plexus, and VD of the deep capillary plexus. The second model added CCFD% to the first. The authors have mentioned in their hypothesis that quantitative swept-source optical coherence tomography angiography–derived CCFD% is an independent predictor of DR progression and DME development.
