- W4361983660 abstract "The Present study consists of a reliable process for synthesizing ZnO NPs by the green method. Capparis leaves extract is used as active and chelating capping agent for synthesizing ZnO NPs from zinc acetate salt. The chemical composition, morphology, structure of ZnO nanoparticles were investigated using some characterization techniques, i.e. FESEM, XRD and FTIR. The FESEM image and XRD spectrum confirmed the spherical – shape and the crystallinity of zinc oxide prepared with an average size between (27 - 35) nm. An ability of prepared oxide to remove Ni (II) and copper (II) ions from aqueous solution has been investigated. Some parameters that can affect metals uptake such (temperature, weight of adsorbent, concentration of the metal) were described. It has been found that with increasing the concentration of metal ions, the percentage of adsorption decreases and increases with the increase in temperature, with a removal % of 96.77% and 97.46 % for Ni (II) and Cu (II) respectively. Characterization of zinc oxide nanoparticles showed that it is an excellent material for treating wastewater with low concentration of metal ions." @default.
