- W4362570904 abstract "Ubiquitous situation awareness plays a crucial role in the industrial network systems, where critical sensing information is expected to be delivered reliably and timely. Moreover, different monitoring applications usually have heterogenous requirements on the transmission performance. In order to achieve the ubiquitous situation awareness, a mass of different kinds of sensors are deployed in the field to collect sensing information for industrial monitoring. In general, different monitoring applications have distinct requirements on the transmission performance of sensing information. For example, in the temperature estimation application, in order to satisfy the condition of estimation convergence, the outage probability of measurements cannot exceed a certain threshold. On the other hand, the vibration monitoring of conveyance rollers (equipment-health monitoring application) concerns about the data volume obtained within the specified deadline, since the fast sample rate of vibration sensor will generate a large number of monitoring data in each control period. As the available spectrum is quite scarce, it is difficult to support the data transmission of a mass of sensors. This chapter will study how to provide the satisfied quality of data transmission service for different monitoring applications." @default.
