- W4365503721 abstract "A dyestuff product has to be formulated as a link between dye plant producers and dyehouses. This is one of the major challenges to introduce natural colorants into the operation mode of a modern dyehouse. In this chapter, different concepts to provide dyehouses with a standardized dye product are discussed. The planned application of a natural dye also defines requirements to the dye formulation, for example, concentration of colorant in the preparation. The use of dye extracts and concentrated dyes solutions and the production of dye lakes as a concentrated dye preparation are discussed with regard to resources consumption, standardization, and application in the dyehouse. The high value of plant residues and by-products from food production as sources for natural dye extraction is highlighted. Different dye preparations are compared with regard to their applicability in dyehouses, and methods to standardize a dye product for improved repeatability of dyeing results are compared." @default.
