- W4366127661 abstract "Cardiovascular diseases are one of the greatest causes of death in society. Though the heart transplantation is one of the modern solutions of heart failure, its application is limited due to the availability of the matching donor. To overcome this lead time and waiting time of transplantation, assist devices and other prosthetics have come into existence. This mechanical or electro-mechanical device need to be tested rigorously before they are in living beings. Cardiovascular replicator (CVR) is a system in which in vitro testing of these assist devices can be done. CVR can be represented as a tabletop electro-mechanical system mimicking the entire hemodynamic of the human heart. This system is also capable of simulating different diseased heart conditions. In the present study a novel design of such cardiovascular replicator has been done with an experimental setup. Beside healthy conditions, congestive heart disease such as aortic valve stenosis (AVS) conditions have been simulated experimentally. Simulated result of healthy as well as diseased heart condition have been validated with the available literature." @default.
