- W4366133807 abstract "Concrete is the worldwide most utilized man-made material due to its easily moulding, good performances and low-cost. However, loading and aging actions as well as environmental factors always cause deterioration of concrete structures. Therefore, evaluation the “health” of concrete structures is of great importance in the security of lives. Self-sensing cementitious composites with capability to sense working conditions of concrete structures are ideal materials for structural health monitoring of concrete structures. Because nano graphene plates (NGPs), carbon nanotubes (CNTs), and nano carbon blacks (NCBs) not just present favourable mechanical performances and electrical conductivity as well as synergistic modifying effect. Therefore, cementitious composites incorporating the hybrid NGPs/CNTs/NCBs are developed and a comprehensive study about synergistic modifying effect of the hybrid NGPs/CNTs/NCBs on mechanical performances, electrical conductivity as well as self-sensing property of cementitious composites is conducted in this paper. Experimental results demonstrate that the compressive strength, the maximum absolute fractional change in electrical resistivity (FCR) and stress/strain sensitivity of cementitious composites incorporating 4.0 wt% hybrid NGPs/CNTs/NCBs can reach 60.3 MPa, 35.0% and 0.75%·MPa−1/149.30, respectively. The electrical resistivity is reduced by three orders of magnitudes. The percolation threshold zone of electrical conductivity is between 1.0 wt% and 4.0 wt%. It can therefore conclude that the hybrid NGPs/CNTs/NCBs endows cementitious composites with excellent electrical conductivity and stable sensitive piezoresistivity, thus presenting great potential to apply in structural health monitoring of concrete structures." @default.
