- W4366145431 abstract "This paper presents the design of a compact size, dual-band microstrip patch antenna suitable for 5G applications in the microwave and mmWave bands. The main objective is to develop a compact-size single-fed dual-band antenna that has a simplified design with performance measures that are comparable to those of other techniques available in literature. The antenna structure contains a rectangular patch that is shaped to incorporate rectangular cuts and an elliptical slot in between, in addition to an elliptical defected ground surface (DGS). The patch size is 9.8 x 7 mm <sup xmlns:mml=http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML xmlns:xlink=http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink>2</sup> . The design is simulated using the CST platform and performance is justified with the HFSS simulation tool. A comparison with other techniques available in the literature shows that the proposed design combines the advantages of the smallest size and the highest gain in the mmWave band compared to single–fed designs. The other performance measures are of comparable figures to those of other available techniques." @default.
