- W4366424907 abstract "Fossil fuels have long been a major part of the world’s energy markets. The increasing population demand for more and sustainable energy resources is a matter of concern. In the present time, there is considerable crisis for energy resources and speedy exhaustion of non-renewable resources like fossil fuels. This led to the finding of an alternative to non-renewable resources to satisfy the needs of increasing population and get better of environmental issues including global warming, greenhouse gas emissions, air pollution, etc. Biomass is the only alternative naturally occurring energy-containing carbon resource that is substantial enough to be used as a fossil fuel replacement. Microorganisms are the focus of attention in a variety of scientific disciplines. They can be found in almost every ecosystem on the planet, and their utilisation is propelling a substantial technological revolution. Microbes are being utilised to manufacture various biofuels from waste microbial biomass. This chapter focuses on different types of microorganisms that have the potential to provide biofuel. Mitigation of some challenges faced during the production of biofuels is achievable with the use of microbes to produce better and efficient biofuels." @default.
