- W4366465260 abstract "Objectives The purpose of this study is to identify the current status of peer supervision research by looking at overseas research trends related to peer supervision, and to seek implications for the vitalization of peer supervision research in Korea.
Methods As a result of cross-searching for terms related to ‘peer supervision’ in academic databases and reviewing them three times, the final 160 articles were selected for study analysis. In this study, research trends were analyzed in four aspects: by year, by research method (quantitative, qualitative, mixed, literature), by operation (number of people, time), and research scene (education, health care, social welfare).
Results First, when looking at each year, it was found that more than one study was conducted every year, except for some specific years from 1962 to 2021. When looking at the 10-year cycle, the rate of research in the 2010s was the highest (32.5%). Second, by research method, qualitative research conducted the most (41.9%), followed by literature research (28.1%), quantitative research (18.7%), and mixed research (11.3%). Third, by operation, studies targeting 3 to 9 people were the most common (37.4%), and studies that lasted more than 50 minutes to less than 90 minutes were found to be the most common (53.0%). Fourth, in the research scene, studies in the education field were found to be the most(38.1%), except for ‘Other’, where it is difficult to distinguish a specific field, and research in the health care and social welfare fields was also confirmed.
Conclusions Overseas research on peer supervision is not being actively conducted even though it has been going steadily from the early 1960s to the present of 2021. The proportion of qualitative research was higher than quantitative research, and the study subjects consisted mainly of a small number of 10 or less. In the research scene, the educational field of elementary and secondary schools and universities was centered, and research was also conducted in various fields such as health medical, and social welfare." @default.
