- W4366483830 abstract "Absorption refrigeration systems can be driven by low-grade heat sources to generate high-grade energy, but their applications are confined by large size and low energy efficiency. Enhanced absorption process can reduce the energy consumption and components size, and solution atomization technology can improve the absorption process by substantially enlarging the liquid–gas contact area. Nevertheless, the atomization process will consume electrical energy, and the enhancement in the absorption process comes at the atomizer energy consuming, so the comprehensive effects need to be clarified. To analyse the influence, a mathematical model is established based on the thermodynamic analysis. The modified energy efficiency and the exergy efficiency are employed to describe the energy consumption and irreversible loss, and the size decreasing ratio is used to measure the decreasing of the system size. After validating the reliability of the model by a built experimental system, the enhancement effects and influence factor are calculated by the model. The result shows that installing atomizer has positive effect on system performance, and it can reach a compactor and more efficient system. The energy consumption and irreversible loss can be decreased by 32.8% and 31.8%, and the size of the main components can be reduced by 10%. The influence of the droplets parameters are also analyzed. The higher atomization ratio is more effective to decrease the size of the system but no effects on the energy consumption and the irreversible loss.
