- W4366722605 abstract "This chapter discusses the super-hydrophilic thin films based on tungsten trioxide (WO 3 ) and titanium dioxide (TiO 2 ). It focuses on the modification of co-catalysts onto WO 3 or TiO 2 for visible-light-driven super-hydrophilicity. The chapter presents new strategies for the successful development, i.e., interfacial charge transfer for visible-light absorption and multi-electron reduction reaction for oxygen molecules. Super-hydrophilic conversion on the WO 3 film surface under visible-light irradiation is realized by applying the WO 3 /ITO/CaFe 2 O 4 sandwich structure. This system is so-called “Z-scheme”. In Cu-rutile nanorod film, photogenerated holes in the valence band of TiO 2 can react with organic contaminants or TiO 2 itself to increase the surface energy, while the electrons in Cu 2+ ions cause the two- or four-electron reduction of oxygen molecules." @default.
