- W4366992529 abstract "Background: The highest record Year Life with Disease (YLD) rate of Hypertension was observed in Indonesia (249.2 per 100,000) compared to the global average (100 per 100,000). Indonesia will suffer a heavy and surging hypertension burden in the near future. Hypertension control and concomitant CVDs treatment could be a significant public health challenge for the Indonesian government and health department. The major reason for the difficulties in providing primary services in Indonesia is a lack of analytical studies on the requirement for more comprehensive treatment of specific populations. We will evaluate hypertension in all Indonesian islands from 1990 to 2019 by gender and socio-demographics. Methods: We used IHME-GBD data to estimate the DALYs caused by hypertension. The data was taken from 1990 to 2019. We grouped the data based on the Socio-Demographic Index (SDI) and gender. We analyzed data in R 4.2.2. Results: Systematic analysis revealed that SDI and Gender significantly impact the prevalence of hypertension. Major changes over the last three decades were found in Male-Middle Income, Male-High Income, and Male-Low Income with 79%, 71%, and 50% change respectively. The most significant change was found in the male-middle SDI with a change from 2,926 to 5,251 (+79%) making it the highest Hypertension DALYs number in the World. Middle SDI has the Highest average change. Conclusion: SDI and gender are crucial to identifying the contributor of disease burden and improving strategies for policy intervention and health equity. hypertension promotive and curative strategies must be personalized to every subgroup." @default.
