- W4366992821 abstract "Biosynthesis approach is procuring popularity over the recent years since it is cost-effective, simple, eco-friendly and stable. In the present study we introduce a green, viable and unique route for the bio-synthesis of NiO nanoparticles using Trigonella foenum graecum (fenugreek) extracts as reducing agent and Ni(NO3)2·6H2O as precursor. NiO is an extensively investigated transition metal oxide due to its specific functional characteristics in diverse technical applications. The nanocomposites of NiO impacted on multiwall carbon nanotubes (CNT) has been manifested as an asset to nanostructure based electronic devices. NiO/CNT nanocomposites were synthesized by ultrasound assisted two step method. Along with the structural attributes, optical characteristics of the synthesized samples were analysed. In addition to this, the effect of annealing temperature on the crystallite size was studied and it was observed that as the annealing temperature was escalated, the crystallite size also increased. Band gap was determined from Tauc plot and it was perceived that band gap of the synthesized sample decreased when CNT was loaded onto NiO." @default.
