- W4367291783 abstract "The statistics regarding Diabetes Mellitus (DM) give an insight into its chronic severity that is increasing in the world. This research has recapitalized different mathematical models in the study of DM. Sorensen model centered on six compartments (Brain, Heart and Lungs, GUT, Liver, Kidney and Periphery) Hovorka model derived from two compartments (glucose and insulin kinetics) of the human body is explored with their adaptations. Based on the Hovorka model, Insulin response and pancreas sensitivity through various studies are derived. Bergman model developed on obese and lean diabetic individuals is studied. A dynamic model put together with time delay is discussed. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) model (), i.e., the UVA Padova (University of Virginia) simulator for the treatment of T1DM is presented. The survey aims to explore different mathematical approaches experimented with in the field of DM. Any author working on a mathematical model based on glucose, glucagon and insulin dynamics and their advancements can benefit from this study. Adaptations with the advantages and limitations of each model are detailed." @default.
