- W4375865615 abstract "In this study, thermomechanical behavior of regular porous materials is studied using analytical, numerical, and experimental approaches. Analytical relationships for octahedral lattice structure have been obtained based on Euler-Bernoulli beam theory. Three types of finite element models, two based on beam elements and one based on volumetric elements, are made. Additive manufacturing technique is also used to fabricate lattice structures with different relative densities. The manufactured samples are heated to a certain temperature in a closed chamber, and the displacements are measured and compared to their analytical and numerical counterparts. Based on the results, the analytical, numerical, and experimental results are in excellent agreement with each other. The methodologies introduced in this study would be beneficial for further studies on porous materials and lattice structure with other topologies and higher degrees of freedom." @default.
