- W4376277557 abstract "Titanium-based materials are of growing interest as biocompatible structural materials with improved mechanical properties and biocompatibility in various biomedical applications. Traditionally, one of the main factors hindering the broader use of this class of materials has been the relatively high manufacturing cost. Manufacturing such alloys via powder metallurgy allows for reducing costs and developing innovative compositions that are not otherwise achievable. However, titanium alloys are expensive and, unless surface treated, generally cannot prevent surgical infections related to bacteria which can damage the integrity of the implant. This paper aims to classify the research undertaken to define the manufactured Titanium-based materials that fulfill the requirements for structural and biomedical implants, which have antibacterial responses making their potential applications for permanent medical implants." @default.
