- W4377224141 abstract "This paper presents the application of a human- based metaheuristic soft computing method, Driving TrainingBased optimization (DTBO) algorithm, for optimal tuning of PID controller in DC motor speed control. In MATLAB/Simulink environment, the proposed optimization method has been implemented to determine the gain values of PID controller by minimizing the Integral of Time multiplied by Absolute Error (ITAE), the so-called objective function in our present work. A comparative analysis of the PID controller tuning has also been carried out among the proposed scheme (DTBO-PID) and other existing techniques such as Harris Hawks optimization (HHO), Grey Wolf optimization (GWO), Atom Search optimization (ASO) and Sine-Cosine Algorithm (SCA) using transient response characteristics for unit step response. It has been observed that the PID controller tuned by the proposed DTBO method has better control performance in terms of zero overshoot, negligibly small rise and settling times as compared with those obtained from the selected existing counterpart methods." @default.
