- W4378625629 abstract "This chapter describes the essential value of neuroimaging in the management of patients with glioblastoma in daily clinical practice, describing the basic and advanced protocol used both in diagnosis and in the assessment of response to treatment. Emphasis is placed on certain moments in the course of the disease, such as the assessment of the maximal extent of resection in early post-surgical MR and the assessment of progression vs. treatment response in post-chemoradiotherapy or follow-up MR. The concepts of pseudoprogression, radionecrosis, and pseudoresponse are introduced, as well as the role of neuroimaging for their differentiation and management in the context of multidisciplinary committees. A practical diagnostic approach is proposed, trying to define imaging features that guide the molecular subtype, in order to contribute to the management and therapeutic decision, given the recent 2021 WHO classification of central nervous system tumors." @default.
