- W4378878387 abstract "Carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP) composites can be considered as one of the main methods used in strengthening reinforced concrete (RC) members subjected to flexural actions. Using CRP composites in strengthened flat and curved RC members has shown many advantages compared to other method of strengthening. However, the efficiency of this method of strengthening depends on the bond strength between the FRP and the soffit of the concrete members. FRP sheets might debond before reaching their ultimate tensile strength. Therefore, various anchorage systems have been used to delay the debonding which results in increasing the strength of the strengthened member. This paper presents the most recent anchors focusing on their use and application. The paper also compares between the efficiency of these anchors focusing on spike, patch, U-wraps and hybrid anchors. In addition, this paper presents the results of an experimental program studying the behaviour of concavely-curved soffit reinforced concrete (RC) strengthened in flexure with externally bonded (EB) carbon fibre reinforced polymer (CFRP) composites. Thirty-two RC beams were statically tested in this program. Of these beams, twenty-three were curved soffit beams with varying degree of curvature ranging between 5 mm/m and 20 mm/m, and nine beams were constructed with flat soffit as control beams." @default.
