- W4379284502 abstract "The previous chapters have been dedicated to extend the scope of two known Multi-criteria decision making (MCDM) techniques, namely, TOPSIS and ELECTRE methods. This chapter deeply explores another well-known technique for solving the same problem, namely, the VIKOR methodVIKOR method. In order to analyze the bipolar model from a different viewpoint in this monograph, we develop an innovative multi-criteria group decision model called trapezoidal bipolar fuzzy VIKOR method. This is a suitably redesigned version of the popular VIKOR method, which can competently incorporate the inexact information with a specific bipolar configuration. Bipolar expansion of fuzzy sets (and numbers) opens up a symmetric trade-off between the two irrational components of human reasoning and thinking. Nextly, there may exist the cases where the uncertainty of the information is interpreted by linguistic terms translatable to trapezoidal bipolar fuzzy numbers. Decision experts examine trapezoidal bipolar fuzzy numbers in order to assign preference ratings to alternatives based on conflicting criteria." @default.
