- W4380303882 abstract "Cannabinoid receptors (CB1 and CB2 receptors) are members of G-protein-coupled receptors that are expressed on the plasma membrane. Despite the inherent similarity between CB1 and CB2 receptors (40% in amino acid sequence), these receptors are found in different locations in the plasma membrane (PM). There are several studies investigating the localization of CB1 and CB2 receptors into lipid raft and nonlipid raft regions, respectively. All previous works demonstrated CB2 receptors in nonraft region of the plasma membrane while there are contradictions in the CB1 localization in raft and nonraft compartments. A variety of cell lines and tissues were subjected to different lipid raft isolation protocols to clarify more details of CB1 receptor location in the cell membrane. The inconsistencies in CB1 receptor localization require more studies on CB1 receptor distribution in various tissues and cell lines plasma membrane." @default.
