However, rapid and accurate laboratory diagnostics of diseases can lead to timely success of treatment and also help in reducing morbidity and stopping the spread of dangerous epidemic diseases. The traditional way of diagnosing diseases requires centralized laboratories and trained personnel. The devices used are quite expensive and large, and take time for diagnosing a particular disease. Even so, in recent years, with the modern technological advancements in detection of disease, various electrochemical biosensors have been developed. The electrochemical biosensors come with the features of high selectivity, sensitivity, low cost, easy-to-use, and fast response. This chapter summarizes that the use of biosensors can provide comprehensive insight into the detection of disease-associated biomarkers and also the latest trends in electrochemical biosensors for disease-related detection. A detailed description of materials used for fabrication and the working principle of electrochemical biosensor is also given. Moreover, immobilization of different biomolecules used for numerous diseases has been discussed here with their advances and challenges for disease-related applications." @default.
