- W4380902205 abstract "Recently, there has been significant interest in the fabrication of functional fabrics incorporating metal nanoparticles. The incorporation of metal nanoparticles into textiles enables the attainment of multifunctional characteristics; therefore, the synthesis of functional nanoparticles from environmentally friendly sources, such as biopolymers, is essential. In these processes, biopolymers like cellulose, cyclodextrins, starch, alginate, and chitosan are primarily responsible for the stabilization and reduction of metal nanoparticles, as well as their adhesion to fabrics. This chapter discusses the key research efforts to fabricate textiles with a variety of functional characteristics using biopolymers (cellulose, cyclodextrins, starch, alginate, and chitosan) and metal functional nanoparticles (titanium, copper, zinc, and silver). In addition, the practicability of these functionalized fabrics is discussed." @default.
