- W4381162271 abstract "Since its inception, advertising reflected not only products for consumers to buy, but the everyday situations in which consumers use them. Although it has been useful to businesses, decades of advertising transmission continued to have a clear impact on how society perceived men and women. As a result, whether it be direct or indirect, outside of advertising and the media, men and women who were not “the way they should be” were frowned upon, which is unfortunately reflected in both countries, Japan, and Indonesia. This research was held to find out what role does gender discrimination words have in marketing. This research also aims to find the similarities and differences in consumer behavior between Japan and Indonesia, and if Advertisements that use gender-targeting words such as “Popular among males/Popular among Females” can affect consumer behavior, using Descriptive Statistical approach to analyze Data. Based on the research results, this research has found that consumer behavior in both countries, Japan, and Indonesia, were not affected by advertisements that are using gender specific wording, colors and/or pictures. There was a small variation in the data we received from the Japanese Survey, stating that they were “affected” by the advertisements, but they are but a small minority (10%)." @default.
