- W4381488642 abstract "Super absorbent polymers (SAPs) are three-dimensional polymeric network structured macromolecules that can able to absorb liquid substances such as water, saline solution, body fluid, etc. in large amounts to their original mass. These show the characteristics of water insoluble and swelling behaviour in an aqueous medium for which these are utilised in various fields, especially in agricultural, health and hygiene applications. Polyacrylate-based synthetic SAPs are nowadays widely used materials as an absorbent because of their significant absorbing properties. But its adverse effect on both health and the environment brings a matter of concern among researchers to think about natural-based superabsorbent. Thus, bio-based superabsorbent materials are a green effective alternative to synthetic ones, which can be utilised in various fields without compromising on their properties. In this context, we focused on the sources, current trends, application and future scope of bio-based SAPs which would help the researcher by collecting brief ideas on it." @default.
