- W4381950323 abstract "This article presents an original experiment of the behaviour in terms of viscosity and specific heat for several nanocolloids having PEG 400 as base fluid and nanoparticles of MgO. The viscosity was studied in terms of shear rate variation up to 1000 1/s and temperature up to 333.15 K. Plus, a number of cycles of heating and cooling were applied to check a possible hysteresis. Specific heat was measured by DSC and data were discussed both at ambient temperature and while heating. Results outlined a moderate increase, up to 15.88 %, in viscosity when MgO nanoparticles are added and a reasonable hysteresis. The viscosity hysteresis of nanocolloids is following the base fluid comportment, which is beneficial for practical applications. Specific heat outcomes revealed a decrease of 5.89–22.4 %, depending on the nanoparticle loading, when MgO is added to PEG 400. Results discussion was completed with correlations proposals in terms of VFT equations, as well as models that are already available in the literature." @default.
