- W4381954859 abstract "Brassinosteroids (BRs) are a steroid containing phytohormone, ubiquitously found in all the growing tissues of seedlings and plants alike. An unconjugated BR molecule may contain 27, 28, and 29 carbons within its skeletal structures. The polyhydroxylated compound is necessary for growth as well as defense against biotic and abiotically stressful conditions. The most active form of BR is known as brassinolide. The degree of BR distribution is significantly higher in vegetative plant parts compared to the reproductive tissues. Cycloartenol is the intermediate compound for BR synthesis in multiple reactions of a few pathways, resulting in the synthesis of several variants of BRs (27, 28, and 29-Carbon). BRs are elemental for the progression of various processes, such as cell expansion, division, maintenance of stem cell pool, development of vasculature, and floral transition. Signaling as well as cross-talk mechanisms are regulated by a cohort of BR-signaling proteins. Crosstalk overlays between the BR signalosome and other phytohormonal pathways enable the BR-dependent modulation of plant developmental processes. The occurrence of the BRI1-BAK1 receptor complex provides evidence to support the crosstalk between BR and ABA in Oryza sativa. Brassinosteroid is an upcoming potential candidate for biotechnological studies and research." @default.
