The surface of the carbon steel samples was also analyzed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) in the absence and presence of inhibitor. Polarization curves indicate that EDTA is a mixed-type inhibitor in 0.5M HCl solution and the inhibition efficiency (IE%) is temperature-dependent. Adsorption of EDTA on the carbon steel surface follows the Langmuir isotherm model. The thermodynamic parameters of dissolution and adsorption processes are calculated from experimental polarization data and interpretation of the results are given." @default.
