The effectiveness of two isatin compounds, N-morpholine-isatin (MI) and N-morpholine-3-isatin-thiosemicarbazone (MIT) as corrosion inhibitors in these highly saline media was also evaluated. Only MIT was shown to act as a corrosion inhibitor for carbon steel immersed in both of the simulated produced water solutions evaluated.
