A representative volume element (RVE) including a spherical nanoparticle, a pristine polymer phase and an interphase material between the nanoparticle and the neat polymer was postulated. Using available data in literature, the dependence of debonding stress on temperature was evaluated for the nanocomposites reinforced with spherical nanoparticles such as alumina, silica, and aluminum. Moreover, the effect of thermal, mechanical, and geometrical properties of the RVE components on the debonding stress were investigated. The conclusions can be useful for multi-scale modeling of mechanical properties of nanocomposites." @default.
