Die Unzufriedenheit mit dem Inhalt und der Qualität des Informationsflusses nimmt nicht nur auf nationaler Ebene zu, sondern auch auf der Ebene des täglichen Lebens der Menschen. Die sozialen Medien sind einer der wichtigsten Kanäle für die Verbreitung von Fehlinformationen und Desinformationen und haben sich zu einem wichtigen Instrument für die Beeinflussung insbesondere politischer Aktivitäten entwickelt. Wir definieren Fehlinformation als geteilte Information, die unbeabsichtigt falsch ist, während Desinformation sich auf falsche Informationen bezieht, die absichtlich zur systematischen Informationsbeeinflussung sowie zur Propaganda geteilt werden. Das Zeitalter nach dem Kalten Krieg hat eine neue globale Machtordnung geschaffen, indem Informationen – die zunehmend über soziale Medien verbreitet werden – für politische Zwecke genutzt werden. Kleine Länder wie Finnland sind immer abhängiger vom globalen Informationsfluss geworden, während sie gleichzeitig zunehmend der Verbreitung von Fehlinformationen und Desinformationen ausgesetzt sind. Daher sind die sozialen Medien zu einem immer wichtigeren Faktor im Hinblick auf nationale Sicherheitsbedrohungen geworden. Gleichzeitig sind sie aber auch eine potenzielle Plattform für die Schaffung von (allgemeinem) Vertrauen in die nationale Sicherheit durch den Austausch korrekter Informationen unter den Bürgern und Bürgerinnen. Diese Studie konzentriert sich auf den Fluss von Fehlinformationen und Desinformationen in den sozialen Medien in Bezug auf die Streitkräfte und die nationale Sicherheit. In diesem Beitrag gehen wir auch auf die Rolle des allgemeinen Vertrauens für die psychologische Widerstandsfähigkeit ein und untersuchen die Rolle der Europäischen Union bei der Bekämpfung von Desinformation." @default.
