Reinforcements in the metallic matrix enhance the qualities of stiffness, specific strength, wear, creep, and fatigue when compared to conventional engineering materials. The discussion covered the corrosion behavior of strontium (Sr) reinforced with aluminum–magnesium and aluminum–copper. Utilizing electrochemical studies such electrochemical impedance spectra, linear polarization tests, open-circuit potential, and potentiodynamic tests, the corrosion resistance of the Al-MMC composites created in this study was examined. The linear polarization resistance (LPR) method of the Gamry Reference Potentiostat is used to evaluate the rate of corrosion of different Al-MMCs. Sr is frequently utilized in the casting industry to modify hypoeutectic aluminum–silicon (Al–Si) alloys’ eutectic silicon. Sr has been found to increase the amount and severity of casting faults, particularly porosity and oxide inclusions, according to the reviews that have been done. This study made an effort to assess the effects of the reinforcing material Sr used in the synthesis of Al-MMC on the materials’ corrosion behavior." @default.
