- W4383498539 abstract "Salinity stress affects various plant growths and developmental processes that result in reduced crop productivity at large scale. A potential role of ethylene in regulating plant physiological processes by cooperating with various metabolic pathways is well documented. The beneficial fungi are immensely important in improving the nutritional status of plants and thereby plant tolerance to environmental stresses, particularly salinity stress. In the present chapter, we highlight the recent developments in ethylene research and its interaction with beneficial fungi to sustain productivity under salinity stress. Ethylene improves beneficial fungi colonization with plant roots. This will result in increased nutrient uptake, improved physiological attributes, and enhanced plant tolerance under salinity stress. The literature appraised herein will improve our understanding of beneficial fungi-mediated plant responses under salinity stress, in which ethylene acts as a key player in improving crop protection and production." @default.
