- W4383562863 abstract "This chapter reviews the mechanical properties of cross-laminated timber (CLT) under monotonic loading condition. CLT is known for its lightweight characteristics with a fair stiffness, especially for the in-plane bending. Over the years, several numerical and experimental studies have been conducted on different types of lumbers. Connections and bondage also contributed to the mechanical behavior of the material. Even though obvious results are seen, this chapter focuses mainly on load and displacement implication of the materials with subsidiaries. The first part of this chapter discusses various experimental tests conducted on CLT. Material, loading conditions, and considerable parameters are investigated in advance. The second part of this chapter introduces the modeling considerations, including theories to counteract the results. Variances in results, where the debate lies clearly, is also a part where future researches are needed. The final part of this chapter accounts for the failure modes of the CLT along with their types and unforeseen parameters. It also states the importance of further researches to determine in-depth behavior of some characteristics." @default.
