- W4383648265 abstract "In power supply systems (PSS) of facilities located in areas remote from power system grids, one can employ power transmission lines that use earthing as a current-carrying part. To address electrical safety issues related to the flow of ground currents, double “two wires - earth” (TWE) lines can be constructed, in which special transformers are used to ensure phase opposition of vectors of voltages of the terminals being grounded. This ensures that there are no currents in the ground during symmetric operation. In today's context, the task of creating computer models of such PSSs, which give the opportunity to adequately simulate the steady state operating conditions, becomes particularly relevant. The paper presents the findings of research aimed at the implementation of computer models of electric networks, which include double TWE lines as their part. In addition, the structural designs of TWE transmission lines of the cable type are proposed. The simulation results allowed us to draw the following conclusions: in comparison with the double-circuit power line, the double “two wires - earth” line allows one to significantly reduce the cost of base metal; however, the asymmetric design of this power transmission line causes a decrease in the values of power quality metrics at its receiving end; in addition, higher power losses are observed; the double TWE line can be implemented based on two or four single-phase shielded cables with crosslinked polyethylene insulation." @default.
