The article in Financial Express says that India needs a national disaster pool to lower the risk of natural disasters. From 1991 to 2021, only about 8% of all losses in the country will be covered. During this time, there is a 92% protection gap. Since 2001, more than 100 billion people have been affected by disasters, and about 83,000 people have died because of them. People die in natural disasters, and they also cost a lot of money. Since 1900, USD 144 billion has been taken out of India's economy (where the damage is stated). Most of this loss (USD 86.8 billion) was caused by floods. The rest was caused by storms (USD 44.7 billion). The economy lost a total of Rs 52,500 crore (USD 7.5 billion) because of the floods in 2020, but only 11% of the damage was covered by insurance. The goal of this research is to find out what the government, relevant agencies, and the general publics are doing to teach people about the environment and raise awareness about insurance. The “Green Good Deeds” campaign was started by India's Ministry of Environment, Forest, and Climate Change to make people more aware of the environment and make it easier for them to help protect it.
