As is well known, after the 1917 Russian Revolution, the Soviet Russian political system, its economic circumstances, and social landscape had completely changed. With the establishment of dictatorship under the Stalinist regime, the Soviet Union had deteriorated more badly and tragically. This enforced political culture yielded a lack of freedom of speech, no human rights, and a variety of dyfunctional by-products. Ultimately, this unfavorable atmosphere, both politically and economically, led the people to react to the highest power, party leadership, and leaders with verbal demonstrations, so to speak, ‘political jokes,’ ‘humor,’ and ‘anecdotes.’ The primary purpose of this study then is to explore the specific situations and types of jokes and to what extent these genres affected the people and how they could survive under the communist dictatorship. To this end, this article demonstrates numerous highly proper examples describing the hardship, turmoil, and psychological sentiments of the Soviet people, including the contemporary Russian Federation, so-called Putinist administration." @default.
