- W4384346300 abstract "The management of agriwaste has been reported as a global issue since the major proportion of agriwaste is either buried in soil or burned down, causing large-scale air and water pollution. It plays a remarkable role in global warming; India ranks second worldwide in farm outputs and generates large quantities of agriwaste, calculated ~92 MT/year. This causes large-scale pollution along with excessive particulate matter emissions. Parallel to this, the residual burning of agriwaste has resulted in major environmental contamination, contributing to various health issues and severe global warming. The source of agriwaste varies from crop residues, livestock, aquaculture and agro-industries. The improper management strategies and decreased awareness among people have created an urgent need to bring in effective methods for sustainable management and human food and health security. The main constituent of agriwaste is cellulose, hemicellulose, and lignin, among which cellulose is the most abundant biopolymer. The crop residues have been traditionally used in animal fodder, combustion, composting and soil mulching, along with industrial uses such as the production of paper and matchsticks. The use of microbes in the advancement of human and animal health, food safety and quality, food processing, crop production, environmental protection and agri biotechnology has made them a reliable source for farming practices. Major proportions of lignocellulosic wastes if acted upon with the help of microbial enzymes such as cellulase, hemicellulase, glycosidase, hydrolyase, lyase or esterase, can yield fuel, chemicals, paper, textiles and various other agri inputs. Among all other micro-organisms, Plant Growth-Promoting Rhizobacteria is gaining focus worldwide as a sustainable method for agriwastes burning management as they are used as biofertilizers and play an important role in soil and plant health management. This application decreases the use of chemicals and other agri enhancers that are more or less harming the environment or contributing to producing more agriwaste." @default.
