- W4384447557 abstract "A utopian idea once has now become a reality in context of Artificial Intelligence. The infiltration of an all-encompassing technology in every sphere leaves the healthcare system as no an outlier. The COVID-19 pandemic has tested the healthcare system across geographical boundaries and has called for an urgent sustainable healthcare system. A sustainable healthcare system is imperative for delivering high-quality care at minimal and affordable cost. The penetration of AI in Healthcare Insurance would contribute to a sustainable healthcare system and sustainable development goals however, when technology is considered to be an all-encompassing solution, limitations are ineludible. Simultaneously, the discontent with the implementation of sustainable development goals is undisputable given the differential standards of implementation criteria for different nations. For India, to maintain the standards of implementation of sustainable development goals, it is ought to consider various legal-ethical-socio-economic issues of the nation. Within the country, the economic status of the individual determines the accessibility of healthcare facilities. In India, out-of-pocket expenses are 62.6% of the total expenditure, one of the highest in the world, contributing directly to catastrophic expenditures and poverty. The objective behind the implementation of AI in Healthcare Insurance is to propagate a sustainable healthcare system. However, the pertinent issue is if the implementation of AI in Health Insurance would inevitably be pro-poor promoting equality or accessibility and awareness would still be a concern. Other issues that essentially are considered to be barriers concerning deployment of AI in health insurance sector are lack of trust between the insurance providers and the insured, lack of awareness, lack of accessibility, penetration of digitization in the remotest areas, occurrence of fraud, data privacy issues and lack of proper regulation both on AI and AI in the healthcare insurance. Without dealing with the issues implementation of AI in the Health Insurance Sector shall be in vain. The article provides strategic insight into the ethical-legal-economic status of the nation vis-à-vis the implementation of AI in the Health Insurance Sector. Furthermore, the author evaluates that the implementation of Artificial Intelligence in the Health Insurance Sector in India without dealing with the issues mentioned would result in unsustainable development rather than sustainable development. The author provides several solutions to these issues: a necessary desideratum to be accomplished prior to the deployment of AI in health insurance sector to maintain consonance with the legal-economic and ethical standards." @default.
